20/20…Year Of The Blind
Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.
An important message for followers of Jesus going into 2020.
In Mark 13:22 the Bible warns us that in the end times even the elect might be deceived. My friends, we are there. As we enter this new year we are at a very tenuous place. We are a nation that has not been so divided since slavery. We could see civil war in this decade if we cannot unite. Christian persecution is already here and growing exponentially. What is not commonly understood is that this is a very calculated process brought about by a few wealthy global elites in order to destroy our nation and the values we have stood upon since our formation.
The plan, like a slow drip of water, has been evolving for decades. Sadly it has been amazingly successful. Today, with the help of the deep-state owned and run media and the dumbing down of our entire educational system we are a people who are literally blind to what is really happening. It is all about smoke and mirrors and a never ending 24 hour news cycle designed to manipulate and deceive. So, like sheep to the slaughter we take it all in and believe what we are fed with little or no critical thought or fact gathering. It is evil at its core and is being backed by the enemy of our soul.
It’s not about objective truth anymore—it is all about my truth. I define what is true and only pursue evidence that lines up with that truth. This is sick and leads us directly to the strategy of personal name calling and character assassination for anyone who does not agree with my truth. But please understand that going after the person instead of what they stand for is a critical part of the strategy. Focus on the messenger and forget the message. And we are falling for it. Why? Because we have lost sight of the proper source (more later)—we are blind.
Three years ago I decided to turn off all TV news and have not watched any to date. I have never felt so free. I actually used to yell at the TV, that’s what Italians do you know. Now, I get just enough bites on line to keep up with issues that are truly important. I try, though hard, to avoid all name calling and character assassination articles and videos. Most of the talking heads do not have a clue whether or not what they are saying is actually true and can be backed up with facts. You are a racist because I say you are. The more the news became my source for information and truth the more blind I became.
As a follower of Christ I began to feel ashamed that I was not paying enough attention to the only true and reliable source in the universe—God and His amazing Word. If you truly love Jesus and consider yourself one of His followers I want to challenge you as we enter this new year. Are you turning off the world’s message and focusing on the destiny God is calling you to live out? Here are some important ideas I would encourage you to consider:
- As a follower of Christ begin by asking this question, is it possible that I may be being deceived? Then pray for God to lift off the deception and reveal His truth.
Ps 146:8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down.
- Understand there are no more gray areas—our nation is now divided and good and evil have never been so clearly defined.
Isaiah 5:20-21 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
- We need to take our eyes off people—it is not about Donald Trump or Nancy Pelosi—it is about what they respectively stand for and the country we will become if their particular ideas are put forth.
- When you consider what will happen with a particular party’s world view ask yourself this question…which ideology will be more conducive to spreading the message of God’s love and advancing His kingdom? Dear one, this is the reason we exist—THE GREAT COMMISION!
As of this writing, a well-known Christian publication has just called for the removal of our president on truly shaky grounds pretty much guaranteeing victory in the 2020 election to the most anti-God and morally bankrupt leadership our country has ever seen. This is more than spiritual blindness…this is spiritual stupidity!
- If you make an honest list of what the two leading ideologies stand for and cannot see clearly good vs evil I question whether you are truly a follower of Jesus.
- Quit falling for the lie that everything is about politics—it’s not. I cannot think of any political issue that does not have a profound biblical moral implication at its core.
- Prepare yourself for the battles to come by being in the Word, praying and worshipping God every day.
- If you are a man, take the responsibility for being the spiritual head of your family seriously.
- Stay focused on Jesus and remember this is His battle not yours—it is a spiritual one that requires spiritual preparedness if we are to be victorious warriors for Him.
Finally, go into 2020 with a renewed sense of boldness. Commit to leave the baggage, mistakes and disappointments from the past behind—or they will be used by the enemy to weigh you down.
Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
