Men’s Ministry Leaders

You’re Either Leading This Already, or You’re About To.

Maybe your pastor already handed you this — a nod, a title, “go build something.” Maybe nobody’s handed you anything yet, but you’re the guy who can’t stop thinking about the men in your church who need more than a Sunday handshake.

Either way, you’re in the right place. There are two roads from here, and which one you take depends on one question.

Why This Role Matters More Than It Looks Like It Does

Most churches already offer plenty for men to attend. Few offer men a place to actually be known. A national survey of over 2,600 pastors found accountability groups — small enough for real honesty — exist in only 14% of churches. Mentoring or coaching relationships: 31%. And when pastors are asked to name their church’s real priorities, where time and attention actually go, men’s ministry ranks near the bottom at 4% — behind almost everything else on the calendar.1

That’s not a knock on your pastor. It’s why what you’re about to build matters. You’re not competing for a slot in an already-crowded system. You’re building the piece most churches haven’t gotten to yet.

Does Your Pastor Already Know and Support This?

Not Yet

That’s a real gap, but it’s not a reason to wait to start discipling men. Here’s what to do between now and his yes.

Starting without Support

Yes

Great! You don’t need to figure this out from scratch. Here’s exactly how the model works and what to do first.

Leading the Model

Not Sure Which One Is You?

If you’ve had any conversation with your pastor about this – even an informal one — start with Leading the Model. If this is still entirely your own conviction and he doesn’t know yet, start with Starting Without Support.
