November was a great month of celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday and visiting with family and friends in California. It was also a poignant reminder of how thankful we are for the miracle God worked in our family nine years ago this month. That was when Cindy entered the critical care unit at our local hospital and was not expected to make it. Our precious Lord had something else to say about that and we truly are thankful.
Currently we are still waiting for altitude tests to be scheduled and getting some time behind us to be reaffirmed that Cindy is going to be ok. So far it looks really good and we know that God is with us. Your continued prayers for us in this area are really appreciated.
Early this month I had the privilege of meeting for an extended period of time with Del Tackett. You may remember that name. He was the presenter on Focus On The Family’sThe Truth Project series. Del shared his vision for a new project that really sounds exciting. He actually wants me to participate with an interview on one of the courses, or tours,as he calls them. I have a lot of respect for this man—he is a great communicator and now a wonderful new friend.
Now that we are settling in here in Colorado some exciting things are happening on the ministry front. My new assignment here at The Road @ Chapel Hillsis going wonderfully. I am so excited about what God is preparing to do here and our team is so special. I will be sharing more on all of this after the first of the year.
It looks like the first quarter of 2019 is shaping up very nicely for On Target. We have several bookings. Also, Cindy and I, along with Pastor Steve Holt and his wife, Liz will be doing a special Couples Conference here around Valentine’s Day, February 15-16. Please mark that date as those of you in the area might like to attend.
On December 30th, for those of you in Colorado, I will be bringing the end-of-year message at The Road. The service is at 10:15 and I will be talking about moving into the new season God has before us personally and corporately. Working titles, See, I Am Doing A New Thing… The Old Has Gone, The New Has Come
As we close this important end-of-year letter please allow me to share an important reminder. Our ministry, not unlike most non-profits, really depends upon the generous donations from our partners at the close of the year. December is usually our strongest month for financial donations and it truly does set the table for an exciting first quarter launch. That said, this year we have some important opportunities we want you to be aware of. Please pray about taking on one or more of these special needs as you consider your end-of-year donation plans:
- 5-7,000.00 gets us to the goal line on our final publishing for our new two-year curriculum workbooks
- We are about 10,000.00 away from retiring some accumulated debt we have been carrying for many years. This pay off gets us to retiring all short term debt
- 2,000.00 to finish a much needed update of our website and social media platforms
- 3-5,000.00 to develop a video version of our Couples On Target teaching
We are so thankful for you, your prayers, support and faithful partnership in serving our Lord.
Advancing God’s kingdom together,
