While February is famous for being the month we celebrate Valentine’s Day it truly was a month filled with powerful ministry to couples through On Target Ministries.
It began with Cindy and I traveling to Dayton Ohio on the invitation of Ed and Kathy Kruse from West Carrollton Nazarene Church. The last time we were there was back in 2005 where we conducted a Couples On Target Seminar on Valentine’s day one year after I had done a men’s conference for them.
Cindy and I spoke four times on Saturday to the couples and the response was amazing. Several rededications and three precious souls ushered into the kingdom for the first time. On Sunday I spoke at both of their services and brought the message, Armed…Ready For Battle. Many of you know that is the story of Cindy’s incredible journey through an illness that almost took her life back in 2010.
The response was overwhelming as between 20-25 people asked Jesus into their hearts. Five of them were under 20 years old. A few of these precious people came up to us after the service and we had the privilege of praying for them. It was such a special time. I also had the pleasure of meeting the Senior Pastor, Bryan Heil. Bryan and I had a couple of pre-trip conference calls to get to know each other and it greatly helped me to tailor a positive and relevant message for his congregation.
The following weekend we were back at our home church for our Valentine’s weekend couples conference. Cindy and I teamed up with our Senior Pastor Steve and his wife Liz for a very special Friday night dinner, message and dance. On Saturday we each brought two more messages dealing with how to have Godly relationships. It was a well-attended event, maybe the biggest one yet at The Road @ Chapel Hills.
On Sunday the four of us teamed up for a panel discussion during our regular church service. If you go to theroad.org and click on sermons you can navigate to that service and take it all in. The Lord gave us some great wisdom as we addressed some key questions from our audience on how to have Godly relationships.
Finally, as I am writing this letter my family just finished celebrating with me for my 75th birthday. It was a great time made more special by a surprise visit from our daughter Kim from California. To the hundreds of people who sent me happy birthday messages, thank you so much.
Someone asked me, at my age is it boxers or briefs…I said depends.
Thank you dear friends for all your prayers, love and support for what God is doing through On Target Ministries,
