Go to mom and dad and say, hey, tell us what's going on in the lives of your kids right now. What are the things, what are they struggling with? What are the things we can be praying for? Maybe they're having an issue at school where their grades are coming down and they need encouragement in that area. But getting input from mom and dad really sets the stage for you being able to pray focused prayers for what's going on in their life right now.
And then the next one is to tell them often that you love them and that you are proud of them. Listen, I often say this. How old do you have to be before you don't need to hear those words anymore? I got it. Dead.
And by the way, even when you're dead, you're going to be hearing those words someday from your loving Heavenly Father because that's where we get our model. What did he say? He says, what did our Heavenly Father say about his own son? He said, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. Not a bad place to take our standard.
